Happy Carnival, everyone! Feast well before your fast!
Every time a toad croaks
a new narcotic is born
Its tongue extends the assembly line
mechanics rule over dogmatic flesh
The mad toad carnival flees Pamplonan bulls
who crash across cornfields blanketing their sickened minds
Apaches only breathe through their noses
and mine is blocked.
Such an imaginative piece. Especially the first two lines. I love toads! We have a bunch of areas where they croak. All their croaks are so different and funny. It's a favorite past time to go around and hear them.
A toad can die of light!
Death is the common right
Of toads and men,--
Of earl and midge
The privilege.
Why swagger then?
The gnat's supremacy
Is large as thine.
-Emily Dickinson
